Barbour recently showcased its 2017 spring/summer menswear collection that features laser-cut lightweight jackets appropriate for the warmer seasons. The English heritage brand, heavily prized for its iconic waxed outerwear, had shed weight off its summer jackets giving them a much slimmer profile. The company looked to its extensive archives for ideas, using synthetic fabrics to produce overcoats relative to ones used by fishermen and military folk. They nailed it, but that doesn’t come as a surprise to a company with over 100 years experience in the business.
